New setback for Kightly

Wolves winger Michael Kightly is still struggling to shake off an ankle ligament injury and is unsure when he will be ready to return to the action.

The 21-year-old has been sidelined for nearly a month and suffered another niggle during training earlier this week.

Kightly told the Express & Star: "I was outside for a bit and was running on it comfortably and twisting and turning fine.

"But when I tried to pass the ball or kick it I got a sharp pain through my ankle, so I'm clearly not alright yet.

"I'm almost exactly where I was ten days ago, it hasn't improved at all in that time and it is very, very frustrating.

"I just want to be back out there again, but at the moment I don't know when that is going to be. I'm having a scan and there is the possibility of me having an injection later this week.

"I'm champing at the bit to get back, but it's just a case of playing a waiting game now."
