Murray tipped for England
19 Sep 2006 - 14:07:45
Fit-again Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has been tipped to challenge for international honours by Barnsley manager Andy Ritchie.
Murray, 25, has suffered a catalogue of injury problems over the last two years, but is now back to full fitness and has impressed this term for the Molineux club.
His latest display against the Tykes impressed Ritchie, who saw both Paul Hayes and Marc Richards denied by Murray's heroics.
He said after the game: "Those two saves were world-class, amazing.
"He is such a big guy and yet the agility he showed there was terrific.
"I didn't know too much about him beforehand and I guess that's because of the injuries that he's had.
"But he looks a fabulous keeper and he should be playing for England after a display like that.
"If he carries on in a similar way I can't believe that England won't be looking at him."
