Murray cool about comeback

Injury-jinxed Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has accepted that he will not be fit for the start of the new season.

The 28-year-old suffered a serious knee injury while on loan at Hereford United last November and is still some way away from a return to action.

Murray told the club's official website: "I come out of the brace next Wednesday and go back to see the surgeon at the end of July.

"I'm back in doing a bit of work at the moment, but hopefully after that I can really start stepping things up again.

"Of course I'm gutted not to be ready for pre-season, but I'm not putting any pressure on myself now in terms of setting a date or anything.

"I can't afford to push myself too much - making sure it's all done properly is the main thing and when I'm ready, I'm ready."
