Mouyokolo injury concerns played down

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has played down concerns that Steven Mouyokolo will miss the start of the season after the recent signing was forced to sit out the 4-0 pre-season friendly success at Walsall. Mouyokolo, who moved to Molineux from Hull City for £2.5million earlier this summer, has also been ruled out of Saturday's friendly against Charleroi with an ankle injury. Fellow Frenchman Ronald Zubar will also miss the game in Belgium after straining ankle ligaments in Saturday's 3-0 win at Bohemians. However, McCarthy said: "Steven has settled down. He was a lot better on Tuesday. He won't be going to Belgium but I'd hope he might be back involved in training next week. He got a nasty kick which settled down quickly but it turned out to be worse than it was. "Ronald will be alright. He's not going to be long term. He's strained his ligaments but he'll be OK and he's feeling a lot better." Meanwhile, McCarthy is pleased with the way his strikers have gone about their work during pre-season, adding: "I'm excited we've got four strikers scoring goals. "Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher played well on Saturday. Sam (Vokes) and Sylvan (Ebanks-Blake) did the same last night and got their goals. "I'm pleased with them all. Sylvan was terrific and his work-rate was excellent. He knows that's what he's got to do and you could see how much it meant to him to score a goal."
