McCarthy rues injury pile-up

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admitted Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Reading was further soured by a host of injuries to key players.
The in-form Molineux outfit failed to win their eighth straight Championship game and lost Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis to injuries.
But speaking afterwards, McCarthy revealed two more players also picked up knocks against the Royals.
"We had almost forgotten that bitter taste of defeat but the cost is huge with the injuries," he said.
"We might have caught Michael's (Kightly's) in time because he was just starting to feel a problem, but everyone saw Matt go down.
"Stephen Ward also has a problem with his ribs and Andy Keogh had a knee in the back, so we have a few more problems to contend with.
"But I am proud of the start we had and I was delighted with the way we kept taking the game to them."
