Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has tempered his side's best start to a season in over 40 years after Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Molineux outfit are level at the top of the table with Birmingham City on 16 points following their six-game unbeaten start to the new season.
"We didn't get about them in the first half as we can do and took our foot off the gas a little bit," said McCarthy.
"But what pleased me was that we put it back on the pedal in the second half and deserved to win.
"It had just become expected of us that we would score goals and it's not always going to happen.
"It's great that we've had such a good start and we're enjoying it. But it's still only a start."
