Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was delighted with the full debut of loan defender Michael Mancienne in the 2-1 victory at Cardiff City.
The 20-year-old Chelsea centre-back helped McCarthy's side strengthen their place at the top of the Championship table with an impressive display alongside Richard Stearman.
McCarthy told the Birmingham Mail: "I've been trying to sign Michael for a while. I tried to sign him 18 months ago and he went to QPR.
"I tried again last season and he went to QPR again. This season we've been looking around and, when we contacted him again, this time we got him.
"Chelsea had to get Ricardo Carvalho back fit first and once they did, we were in. I am delighted with him and I think he was terrific at Cardiff.
"He was in the dressing-room afterwards battered and bruised after Carl Ikeme ran into him and then he got kicked. But he already knows what the Championship is all about."
