McCarthy calls for calm

23 Apr 2007 - 11:13:39

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has urged his side to forget Sunday's 3-2 defeat by Birmingham City and go on to secure a play-off spot.

McCarthy's side let a second-half lead slip at Molineux in a tense Midlands derby and even missed a stoppage-time penalty through Michael McIndoe as Birmingham went back to the top of the Championship table.

But Wolves remain in the final play-off spot and McCarthy has reminded his side that two victories from their remaining two games will be enough to secure a place in the all-important top-six.

"We had an absolutely magnificent performance - created loads of chances and their keeper is man of the match," he said.

"Overall I'm thrilled with our performance and the chances we created.

"We've got two more games, win them both and we're in the play-offs, no-one can do anything about it."
