Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is hopeful of keeping his current squad together and mounting another promotion challenge next season.
McCarthy's side missed out on a top-six finish by just a single goal, despite winning 1-0 at home to Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the season.
Afterwards, McCarthy told the Birmingham Mail: "We are all ruing a missed opportunity at the moment, but we will be coming back in and aiming for promotion.
"I don't regret anything because I have done everything I possibly could.
"If I could have done anything different or better or changed something, then I would have done.
"In everyone else's mind there will be something I should have done, but that is the nature of a manager's life.
"There will be changes, players will come and go. In my own head I have a nucleus of players who will be staying and I won't have a problem with."
