McCarthy: Break will do us good
Mick McCarthy believes the international break has come at the right time for his Wolves players after a run of four successive defeats. Wolves began the campaign with seven points from the opening three games but have since gone down to Tottenham, QPR, Liverpool and Newcastle to slide into the bottom half of the table. The midlands club have nine players away with their countries and McCarthy hopes the change of environment will help to get the recent slump out of their system before the derby with West Brom. He said: "We've got the likes of Hennessey, Berra, Ward, Doyle, Hunt, Edwards, Milijas, Guedioura and Vokes away. "International breaks can help at times. I've been an international and you can suffer a couple of defeats and then go away and it's just a break from it. "I'll have a look at them when they come back and by them all being back on the Wednesday means we've got an extra day to prepare for the derby (on October 16)."
