Malone keen to make Shrimpers mark

The 18-year-old is spending a month at Roots Hall, following in the footsteps of team-mates Charlie Mulgrew and George Friend who have previously had similar spells. "There are a few of us who have come here from Wolves and hopefully I can do as well as they did for Southend," he told the Southend Echo. "I actually spoke to George before coming down and he said it was a really good place to come and play. "He said he would have liked to have stopped for longer but there was nothing he could do about it and he had to go back to Wolves."
