Kightly praises classy Henry
29 Oct 2009 - 07:29:31
Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Michael Kightly has backed team-mate Karl Henry to challenge for an England spot in the near future.
The 26-year-old former Stoke City man has been a key figure in Wolves' return to the top-flight and Kightly believes that Henry can make a further step up in class.
He told the Express & Star: "I think he could, Karl's a realistic person in that he knows there are a lot of players in front of him.
"But if he keeps performing the way he did on Saturday, then why not?
"Karl has everything and can go all the way. He's got all the attributes to have a great career."
Meanwhile, Wolves have allowed goalkeeper Carl Ikeme to join League One side Charlton Athletic on a month's loan.
Addicks boss Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "We couldn't go into this busy period with only one goalkeeper so we're delighted to bring in Carl on loan.
"Carl is a good goalkeeper. He offers a big, physical presence and we're looking forward to working with him."
