Kightly declares himself fit
15 Oct 2008 - 10:35:28
Wolves winger Michael Kightly has declared himself fit to return from injury against Coventry City on Saturday.
The 22-year-old wideman was expected to be out of action until the end of the month after he strained a hamstring in the Championship leader's 3-0 defeat at Reading on September 30.
However, he has provided manager Mick McCarthy with a boost after returning to full training.
He said: "The recovery's gone well. It's feeling really good. I'd have been available for a midweek game."
Meanwhile, Kightly claims he is happy to switch flanks and cover for fellow hamstring absentee Matt Jarvis, following McCarthy's acquisition of right winger Carlos Edwards on loan from Sunderland.
"We've got a strong squad to try and cope with injuries and the gaffer has brought in a good player in Carlos Edwards," he added.
"I've played on the left many times before, so if I'm in there again that's no problem."
