Kightly commits to Wolves

Michael Kightly has ended speculation about his future by penning a new four-year deal with Wolves.

The 22-year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 51 appearances for Mick McCarthy's side since his arrival at Molineux from Grays Athletic in November 2006, had been linked with several Premier League clubs earlier in the summer.

Kightly told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased that the deal has been completed. I hope it will stop all of this talk about me wanting to leave.

"I've really enjoyed myself at Wolves and I hope that has shown with the passion in my play. I wear the Wolves shirt with pride and will continue to do so.

"I can't wait for the season to start. We've got a good, young squad and, with a couple of additions, I don't see why we can't have a successful season.

"The club's going in the right direction. Everyone concerned with it wants to be in the Premier League and I want to be there with them."
