Jarvis set to boost McCarthy
13 Nov 2008 - 07:21:14
Wolves winger Matt Jarvis is on course for a quicker than expected return from a hamstring injury which was expected to keep him sidelined for three months.
The 22-year-old has not featured since the end of September, but is making good progress towards a return to action.
Boss Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star: "He's doing far better than we'd have hoped for or expected.
"He's really stepped up his training and we're delighted with him. He might be back in training in a couple of weeks, which would probably make it eight weeks since he did the injury.
"We said we thought he was going to be out for potentially three months and it might be three months before he plays for the first team.
"But we don't want to get too carried away with the fact he's coming back, he's got to get right up to first-team pace and he's got to get into the side.
"But it would be lovely to have him in training in two weeks' time and we'll take it from there."
