Friend stays on loan at Southend

Friend has been on loan from for the past month and has made five appearances, scoring one goal. However, the news regarding fellow loanee Jean-Yves Mvoto is not as bright. The 21-year-old, on loan from Sunderland, has been ruled out for at least another six weeks after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hip injury.
