Edwards wings in to Wolves

Wolves have moved quickly to head off a potential midfield crisis after signing Sunderland's Carlos Edwards on loan.

Manager Mick McCarthy lost both of his first-choice wingers, Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis, to hamstring injuries during the midweek defeat to Reading and has landed the Trinidad & Tobago international on loan until December 28.

"I'm delighted we've managed to bring Carlos in," he told the club's official website.

"We've lost one winger long-term and another short-term but have got a very good replacement.

"Carlos is a quality player who can operate on either wing and someone we know a lot about.

"He was very impressive for Sunderland in the Championship and has also played a fair few games in the Premier League, so arrives here with a good pedigree."
