Ebanks-Blake eager to impress
24 Aug 2010 - 09:38:00
Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is determined to enjoy a good season with the Molineux club, having struggled for form and fitness last term.
The 24-year-old scored in the 1-1 weekend draw at Everton, having found the net just twice last season, as Wolves made sure of survival in the Premier League.
Ebanks-Blake told the Express & Star: "It's not what I've got to prove, it's about what we as a group have got to prove to the Premier League that we can play at this level, stay here and consolidate.
"That's all that matters. What I do, what anyone else does, is irrelevant as long as the team gain from it.
"The gaffer picks the team and I leave that decision solely to him. I want to stay in the team and work hard.
"We've got good competition in my position and throughout the whole squad. For me personally, I just want to stay fit and help contribute to another season in the Premier League.
"At this point last season I was injured and out for six weeks. I never got to build any momentum, but luckily this season, touch wood, I can stay fit and show people what I can do."
