Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that former Southend United striker Freddy Eastwood is on the verge of signing for Coventry City.
The 24-year-old Wales international has endured an unhappy year at Molineux , starting only 12 games for McCarthy's side, but a £1million transfer to the Sky Blues appeared to have fallen through last month.
However, McCarthy has told the Express & Star the deal has been revived, saying: "Freddy won't play a part in the friendly on Saturday at all. As far as I'm aware, he's going to Coventry.
"It would be madness of me to take him to Wrexham and play him for 45 minutes, for him to get kicked and pick up an injury.
"If he's leaving anyway and I'm not going to play him, then I might as well not take him. I might as well take someone who's going to be involved."
