Wolves submit Molineux plans

Wolves have submitted plans to the council that will see their Molineux ground expanded to a capacity of 37,000.[LNB] The stadium currently holds just over 28,000 but Wolves now want to further expand their home.[LNB]They have submitted their plans to the council and, if approved, they will start work at the end of this season by completely knocking down the Stan Cullis Stand.[LNB]After that the club are then looking to rebuild the Steve Bull Stand, taking two seasons before being completed in 2014.[LNB]"There has been a huge amount of work undertaken to get to this point and, once again, I'd like to thank Wolverhampton City Council for their help," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the club's official website.[LNB]"At a time when there is a conveyor belt of bad news about the economy and the impact on Wolverhampton, we want the proposed Molineux redevelopment to be a source of civic pride for everyone connected to the club and the City. [LNB]"As a single club city, Wolves holds a unifying place at the heart of the community and undoubtedly a successful Wolves has a positive ripple effect throughout the local area.[LNB]"The Stadium will be rebuilt in high quality brick and will create an iconic sense of pride and place, whilst reflecting the Club's ambition for the future."[LNB]Once the initial phases are complete, then they will look into the feasibility of further expansion to 50,000 capacity.
