Wolves boss Mick McCarthy hopes the international break will bring freshness to his players ahead of the West Ham clash.[LNB] McCarthy's side slipped into the bottom two with a 2-0 defeat at Wigan on Saturday and have now not won in the league since the 2-1 opening day victory over Stoke.[LNB]The Wolves boss, who both played and managed the Republic of Ireland, now hopes the change of scenery in the international break will do his players the world of good.[LNB]He hopes they return to Molineux with a freshness needed to beat West Ham in the bottom-of-the-table clash on October 16.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "We've got about 12 going away and concentrating on their individual country's games. We don't see them back until the Thursday before West Ham.[LNB]"But I've been away on international duty and it is a chance to get away from the pressures of the club and any negativity and come back with a freshness which will benefit us when we play West Ham.[LNB]"We just need to regroup and come back and beat West Ham in two weeks time.[LNB]"West Ham was always going to be a big game and I'm looking forward to it."[LNB]Meanwhile, the Wolves boss has defended the discipline of his side after Karl Henry was sent off in the early stages of the loss to the Latics following a late challenge on Jordi Gomez.[LNB]McCarthy added: ""It might seem ridiculous for me to stand here and say we haven't had any problems with discipline when we've just had a player sent off.[LNB]"But I do feel that some of the bookings we've had - including on Saturday - were soft. [LNB]"And I've seen other players who haven't been booked for similar.[LNB]"There's no problem with discipline at the place.[LNB]"If you spoke to people who knew the lads they would tell you they are one of the best bunch of lads you could have.[LNB]"That just isn't us, and it was just a bad decision from Karl.[LNB]"The place is fantastic and they are a great bunch of players.[LNB]"The attitude shown by the lads week-in week-out is brilliant as was shown by how we did with the ten men.[LNB]"Of course we need a different outcome on the pitch but to change the approach would be wrong because we've played well and did well on Saturday even with ten men.[LNB]"The club and the attitude within the place is fantastic."
