The Wolves boss was recognised at an awards dinner in Nottingham on Tuesday night after receiving the most votes from other managers in the Championship. Moxey told the club's official website: "It's great news and thoroughly deserved. I'm not sure people fully realise how Mick has achieved promotion this season in the sense he has done it in a very cost effective way and with many astute and value-for-money purchases. "It has been a great achievement and one which I am sure Mick will say is a team effort which includes Terry Connor and all the backroom staff, along with Ian Evans, Dave Bowman and all the team of scouts who identify and target the players." Kightly added: "The gaffer has really brought me on as a player since I joined. For a manager like Mick McCarthy to take a punt on me for £25,000 is something that's almost unheard of. I thank him for that and I owe him a lot. "Since he came in he's been a different class and has turned this club around. Every player, fan and person that works at the club owes Mick McCarthy a lot."
