Weather scuppers Mansare move

The Guinea international had been due to link up with the Molineux club at the start of this week.[LNB]But the weather has meant it would have been impossible for boss Mick McCarthy to fully assess his potential with the players unable to train outside all week.[LNB]And hopes of 28-year-old featuring in the midweek reserve clash with West Ham would also have been dashed with the game falling victim to the weather.[LNB]Mansare, who has 18 months to run of his Toulouse contract, is keen to try and engineer a move to England and as a result is not featuring for his country in the African Nations Cup.[LNB]The former Montpellier player may have another chance to impress McCarthy, who wants to strengthen his squad this month, when the weather improves.[LNB]But claims by the players' representatives earlier in the week that a deal was in place for Mansare to move to Molineux on loan - with a view to a permanent deal in the summer - appear to be premature.[LNB]Mansare has made 126 appearances for Toulouse and has featured for them in the UEFA Cup and Champions League.[LNB]Aston Villa midfielder Craig Gardner, Sheffield United central defender Matthew Kilgallon and Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson remain on McCarthy's radar as possible January targets.[LNB][LNB]
