Van Damme told to 'knuckle down'

Wolves defender Jelle van Damme has been told to "knuckle down" by manager Mick McCarthy.[LNB] Van Damme, who has yet to complete 90 minutes in the league this season, admitted recently he was finding it hard to settle with his heavily pregnant wife still in Belgium.[LNB]And the 27-year-old hinted that he would be open to a return to Anderlecht on an emergency loan.[LNB]But McCarthy has responded unfavourably to the Belgian's plea and has told the left-sided full-back to concentrate on trying to force his way into the first team.[LNB]The Wolves boss told The Birmingham Mail: "Let me clear something up, there is no chance of any loan deals.[LNB]"Jelle is a player with us and one of my squad of 25. No-one can go anywhere in October, November or December so every single member of the squad needs to knuckle down and get us some points until the window opens.[LNB]"In some cases, like with Greg Halford (who recently joined Portsmouth on loan), they might go out to get some football.[LNB]"But otherwise it's January.[LNB]"And when we get there one or two of them might want to go, or I might want to change one or two around. That's when we can all do it. In the meantime, it's a case of shutting up and getting on with it."
