Stearman targets England honours

Wolves central defender Richard Stearman is targeting an England call-up after signing a new three-and-a-half year contract. Stearman is reaping the benefits of an extended run in the side alongside Christophe Berra in the absence of Jody Craddock. The former Leicester player put pen to paper on a new deal earlier in the week and has ambitions to eventually play for his country. Stearman said: "I feel I've come on leaps and bounds since I arrived at Wolves. This is the first time I've had a sustained run in the Premier League in my natural position of centre-half. "I hope I'm rewarding the gaffer (Mick McCarthy) for keeping faith in me and I aspire to get better. "I want to continue playing for Wolves in the Premier League - but I've got international aspirations as well."
