Wolves new boy Steven Mouyokolo hopes an impressive pre-season campaign can convince Mick McCarthy he is worthy of an immediate starting spot.[LNB] The Frenchman recently completed a switch to Molineux from Hull City, who suffered relegation out of the Premier League last season.[LNB]He penned a four-year contract upon his arrival, with the option for a fifth should both sides wish to prolong the agreement.[LNB]A long-term deal gives Mouyokolo plenty of time in which to find his feet, but he is determined to hit the ground running.[LNB]"The most important thing for me now is to have a good pre-season," he said in the Birmingham Mail.[LNB]"I want to get to know how the gaffer (Mick McCarthy) works and the other players and to get to know them and everybody at the club.[LNB]"I've signed for many years here and need to settle in and adapt, which I will try to do as soon as possible.[LNB]"I think I will, and it's good to have the pre-season because that is important to make sure I am ready for the first game."[LNB]The 23-year-old may have been purchased with one eye on the future, but Mouyokolo has no intention of sitting on the sidelines.[LNB]"The team is the gaffer's choice," he added.[LNB]"I'm here to be involved with the squad and will do my best to be in the starting XI, but we will see.[LNB]"It will be good to be here working with Mick McCarthy and the other players who have done very well over the last couple of seasons.[LNB]"So it will be tough to win a place in the team, but I will just give my best and work as hard as I can."
