Morgan confident for Wolves' future

Wolves are one point clear of the drop zone after winning five of their opening 20 games and face a crucial clash with fellow strugglers Wigan at Molineux on Saturday.[LNB]But Morgan is convinced survival is certainly within reach.[LNB]"Establishing ourselves as a fixture in the Premiership is our first priority," he said.[LNB]"I was going to say permanent fixture but no-one can guarantee that.[LNB]"Newcastle United would have said they were a permanent fixture but they went down. So we want to be as permanent a fixture as we can get.[LNB]"I think we are on course for that. Had we have had a fair rub of the green I think we would have been a few more points better off and we would have been sitting in a lot more comfortable position.[LNB]"I think we have played better than our points tally would have you believe.[LNB]"There have been some matches when we have come off and not got the result that we wanted and you think 'how did that happen?'[LNB]"But I think on the whole if it balances itself out across the season, as they always say it does, then we should have a good second half because I think we have had more things going against us than for us in the first half."[LNB]Morgan also pointed to a crippling list of injury problems that has meant manager Mick McCarthy has never really had a full squad to choose from as a reason why they are languishing near the foot of the table.[LNB]"The injury list has been horrific. It has been one after the other," added Morgan.[LNB]"Up until recently our player of the year from last season, Kevin Foley, had hardly kicked a ball.[LNB]"Michael Kightly has been out, Stephen Ward had a long spell out, Kevin Doyle was out at the beginning of the season, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake was out at one stage.[LNB]"Dave Edwards, who had been doing well, is out at the moment.[LNB]"Hopefully David and Michael are not too far away from coming back."[LNB]Having tasted success by winning the Championship last season, life in the Premier League has been far more testing for Wolves.[LNB]But Morgan admits nothing has changed for him because he was just as nervous at matches last season as he is this time around.[LNB]"I think you have to be masochistic to come into this business," he said.[LNB]"But yes, I am enjoying it."[LNB][LNB]
