MM: Jarvis will handle attention

Mick McCarthy is backing Wolves winger Matt Jarvis to handle becoming a marked man after making his England breakthrough last season.[LNB] McCarthy expects Jarvis to emulate another winger in Ashley Young, who overcame similar close attention at Aston Villa before becoming an England regular and eventually moving to Manchester United.[LNB]Jarvis made his international debut in the friendly international with Ghana at Wembley in March.[LNB]McCarthy said: "It does make a difference because all of a sudden he's not 'Matt Jarvis that little lad you had from Gillingham'.[LNB]"He's actually 'Matt Jarvis, England international' now. Opponents look upon you differently. They try that bit harder because they're playing against a recognised Premier League player and an England international.[LNB]"But he will cope with it. Of course. It's not the first time and it won't be the last this has happened. Martin O'Neill said it about Ashley Young at Aston Villa. Well, how well has he done since? Matt will handle it. He's got a great temperament and a great attitude. He's terrific."
