Mick: Battle will go down to wire

Wanderers travel to Coventry on Saturday looking to put more daylight between themselves and the immediate chasing pack of Reading, Birmingham, Sheffield United and Cardiff at the top of the table.

Twelve points separate the top five, although three of the chasing four hold games in hand over Wolves. And McCarthy knows his side could well be battling for promotion at home to Doncaster on the last day.

"Let's not kid ourselves, we're not just going to run away with this," he said. "I keep saying this, my mantra hasn't changed, it's going to go to the last game.

"Let's get used to the fact that it may well just take us to the last game of the season. It isn't going to be won on Saturday, or lost."
