McCarthy wants winning ugly mindset

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has urged his team to get into the habit of "winning ugly". McCarthy wants his players to start keeping clean sheets and cut out mistakes as they look to try and move out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone. Wolves are currently three points adrift of safety ahead of Sunday's home derby with Birmingham. He said: "I want us to get back to being a bit harder to break down. Winning ugly is about not taking chances in the wrong areas. You don't have to play all the football and end up getting beat. "Win all the duels and tackles. Getting back to that approach is what we need. "Play football where we can but be tougher and harder to beat - that's what I see as winning ugly."
