McCarthy silent over Hunt interest
Hunt delivered a typical all-action - and goalscoring - performance as Hull and Wolves fought out a 2-2 draw in the Premier League at the KC Stadium on Saturday.[LNB]McCarthy is a keen admirer of Hunt and is thought to have had three bids to sign the Republic of Ireland international turned down this month.[LNB]Hull last week confirmed they have rejected at least one offer of £4million but their resolve could be tested again before Monday's transfer deadline.[LNB]Yet while McCarthy was willing to sing the praises of the 28-year-old - whose display was marred slightly by an aberration that led to Wolves' first equaliser - he would not be drawn on the continued conjecture.[LNB]"He's a very good player but he is also a Hull player," said McCarthy.[LNB]"I've watched him play for Ireland as well and have never seen him play any other way than he did.[LNB]"There's been a lot of speculation but I have never confirmed or denied anything."[LNB]The draw kept Wolves out of the bottom three and Hull inside it and Tigers boss Phil Brown is aware his chances of dragging them away from trouble would be boosted by the presence of Hunt.[LNB]He said: "The chairman has just had a word with me and I am very confident Stephen Hunt will still be a Hull player.[LNB]"If we sold him these fans would go crazy and it is certainly not on my agenda."[LNB][LNB] Transfer Specials.
