McCarthy ready to reward George
The defender has missed all but the first four games of the season with a cruciate injury.[LNB]But his performances and the attitude he has shown on the sidelines have convinced McCarthy to begin talks on an extension to his contract which currently expires in 2010.[LNB]"We are going to extend George's contract and it will get sorted out," he told the club's official website.[LNB]"George will be back -he's the most positive person I've ever seen after the injury he has had.[LNB]"It would be just reward for what he did when he came in as well as encouraging him to do better and get back in the side it may help.[LNB]"He has been brilliant around the place, he's an incredible personality."[LNB][LNB]
