The Wolves boss has been pleased with the progress his side has made during pre-season and was satisfied with their performance in the 1-1 draw at Doncaster on Saturday with Matt Jarvis on target.[LNB]And McCarthy revealed his starting line-up at The Keepmoat may not be far off the one that will face West Ham on August 16.[LNB]However he has challenged his players to put themselves in the frame over the final few pre-season friendlies.[LNB]"I said to them before the game, they are fighting against me to play against West Ham, they are fighting against themselves and each other," McCarthy told the club's website.[LNB]"I will pick the best 11 regardless of the transfer ticket or the name. It doesn't bother me, I will pick the best 11 that I think.[LNB]"There are two more games to play before the season starts and there is room to disrupt someone's position.[LNB]"I was pleased with the performance today. I thought we were very good in the first half but in the second half their goal changed it but we should have been a goal up before that. Besides that we were excellent.[LNB]"We created a lot of chances but we didn't take them, but I am not too worried about that.[LNB]"I have seen pre-seasons when there has been a glut of goals and they have dried up when the season has started, so lets hope we are saving them up."
