Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is confident midfielder Dave Jones will sign a new contract sooner rather than later. Jones has been linked with a move to a trio of Barclays Premier League clubs in newly promoted Newcastle, Bolton and Blackburn. But McCarthy is optimistic Jones will put pen to paper on the new deal offered to him at the tail end of last season. He said: "I want Dave to stay. He's got a year left of his contract and it's the same situation as where we were in March. "We're trying to sort something out. Hopefully that will get done. I think it will get sorted out fairly quickly. "We want him to stay and be part of the squad and I haven't heard anything from anyone."
