League One Fans' Player of the Month: Michael Jacobs - Wolves

Wolves were certainly the team of the month in League One during ‘Fab February’ which saw them climb to the top of the pile – with Michael Jacobs leading the charge.

Two goals against Notts County and another brace against Brentford (so ending the Bees’ 19-match unbeaten run) were major factors behind the ongoing Wolves’ renaissance as they target automatic promotion.

Former Derby winger Jacobs, who signed for Wolves on a permanent basis in January after a successful loan spell, is in a rich vein of form and has been rewarded with the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month title for February.

Much of his own confidence stems from the belief of the team that they can beat any opponents put in front of them at the moment.

“We feel we can win every game and that’s what we’re going to try to do between now and the end of the season,” said Jacobs. “When you look at the strength of the squad it’s a joke, it’s so good.”

‘So good’ that Wolves have won seven league games on the bounce, including three straight wins without conceding in February, with Jacobs scoring four of their seven goals.

“The side is strong and settled at the moment,” added Jacobs, “so hopefully we can keep our winning run going, kick on and stay in that automatic promotion spot.”
