Jones edging closer to return

Wolves midfielder David Jones is unlikely to play a part in Sunday's derby against West Brom but expects to be back in action soon. Jones sustained a gash to his foot in Wanderers' 3-2 victory over Sunderland last month and subsequently spent 48 hours in hospital after the wound became infected. The 26-year-old is now on the mend and although he will not be rushed back into first-team football, Jones hopes to start training again within days. "The infection seems to be clearing up so it's just going to be a case of what I can do now really and whether I can do everything I need to," Jones told the club`s official website. "It's looking hopeful and while I'm not sure about being available for the weekend it should certainly be soon. "Now the doc is happy that the infection is under control we'll just have to see if I can get out training at the end of the week. It will just be a case of whether if I keep progressing I can still do what I need to without any pain."
