Jez plays down Wolves' transfer pot

Several figures have been bandied about touting the amount of funds available to manager Mick McCarthy in order to keep Wanderers in the Premier League next season. But the club's chief executive believes too much focus is being placed on the financial side of things and he insists figures will not be made public beforehand or when they do business. "We talk about money too much openly, publicly," said Moxey in an interview on WolvesWorld. "We've tried really hard over the last three years not to talk about money because we're a football club. We put 11 players on the field, we entertain, Mick plays great football and we try and win as many games as we can with the players we put on the field. "We have a deliberate policy of not divulging how much money we spend on buying a player. And you know what? As much as people are not going to like that, that's what we're going to carry on doing. We're not going to talk about money publicly. "We're going to try really hard not to say anything publicly until Mick comes out and says 'we have signed x, y, z'. We want to keep expectations as low as possible, we're the underdogs, but as Mick says - we're going to try our best and we know we're going to have to compete, which means investing some money."
