Jarvis: Three more wins to survive

15 March 2010 10:10
The Molineux outfit were handed a boost in their quest to avoid relegation at the weekend as they managed a 2-1 away win over drop rivals Burnley.[LNB]Two fortunate goals aided their cause at Turf Moor and Wolves are now three points above the Clarets, who occupy the final place in the dropzone, with a game in hand.[LNB]Jarvis, who opened the scoring on 26 minutes, thinks survival is within touching distance after the win.[LNB]"If we can win another two or three we will be nearly there," he said in The Sun.[LNB]"This has given us more belief that we can do that. It has given us a huge boost going into the last nine games. There's a few teams still in it after this result. [LNB]"Three points is massive at this stage of the season but to do it against one of your rivals down there makes it even bigger. [LNB]"We have been playing very well but little things have been going against us and it has cost us. [LNB]"We felt for a while we were due that little bit of luck and that's what we got with both goals." [LNB]Hull managed to avoid relegation last season with a points tally of 35, and with Wolves currently on 27, three victories would see them surpass that number.[LNB]Jarvis, 23, took full advantage of a poor Tyrone Mears header to nick the ball past Brian Jensen in the Burnley goal and give Wolves the lead on Saturday.[LNB]He added: "A few people asked me whether I thought about getting down on my hands and knees and heading it in and I suppose the thought did flash through my mind. [LNB]"Their keeper had just been booked so he had to be careful as I went round him - it was a bit surreal as there was silence as I put the ball in."
