Mick McCarthy has told Fabio Capello that in-form Wolves winger Matt Jarvis should be given a chance England's friendly with France this month.[LNB] Jarvis has earned rave reviews for his skilful play on both flanks and tireless workrate, and McCarthy said he recently got the opportunity to recommend him for international honours.[LNB]McCarthy said: "I sat next to (Franco) Baldini at the Stoke game (against Manchester United), and I said 'I'd give him a game'. In a friendly I'd play him, no question.[LNB]"He's causing problems for everybody in the Premier League. He does it going forward and he puts his shift in going back.[LNB]McCarthy added that Jarvis' desire for self-improvement is one of the qualities that marks him out.[LNB]He said: "What I like about him is that he continuously wants to improve himself.[LNB]"He'll get the balls out and practice his corners and his free-kicks, his left and right footed crossing.[LNB]"At Chelsea, I told him 'you are marking Ashley Cole'. And I tell you what, Ashley Cole had as tough a game anybody's had, playing cat and mouse with Matt.[LNB]"He came here three seasons ago and has got better and better.[LNB]Jarvis signed a new five-year contract at the start of this season, and McCarthy is confident that he won't lose his star winger in January.[LNB]"He isn't going anywhere," McCarthy said. "We want to get results, and if we're doing well there'll be no desire to leave.[LNB]"If one of the big boys come in for someone, and it happens at every club, then we'll deal with that if it comes along.[LNB]"At the moment, we're all thrilled with him and he's enjoying his football.[LNB]"He's playing as well as he's ever done."
