Hunt hits out at Hull mis-management

Stephen Hunt has hit out at the financial mis-management at Hull after ending his 12-month spell at the East Yorkshire club to join Wolves.[LNB] Hunt, 28, signed a three-year deal with Wolves for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £3million.[LNB]His switch brought an end to a 12-month pursuit by Mick McCarthy, who missed out on his services last summer then saw a £5million bid rejected in January.[LNB]Cash-strapped Hull have been left with no option but to sell their most prized assets as they look to get their finances back on track, and Hunt was grateful for the understanding shown as he sought a move back to the top flight following the Tigers' relegation.[LNB]But he also hit out at the way the club have nothing to show for their two-year spell in the Premier League but fond memories and debts of around £35million.[LNB]The Republic of Ireland international said: "At Reading we had a good structure, when we got promoted the club improved the training ground, they improved everything to go with it.[LNB]"The thing I will say about Hull is it was disappointing that the facilities never really got any better.[LNB]"The training ground probably got worse because it got older, a lot of money has probably gone from there that should have been spent on the structure of the club and to secure the future in terms of at least a good academy.[LNB]"But all they have are memories for the fans, and that's all they've got really. It's disappointing for the players as well I think.[LNB]"It's Adam Pearson's job now and he's got a difficult job but he'll get them in the right direction eventually."[LNB]Hunt had to watch the deciding months from the stands as the Tigers were relegated, sustaining a foot injury against Wolves in February which will rule him out of the start of next season.[LNB]And while he stressed his admiration and respect for his former Hull team-mates, he admitted there were some players at the KC Stadium he will not miss as he embarks on the next stage of his career at Molineux.[LNB]"At Hull I really enjoyed playing with the lads, there were one or two characters I didn't enjoy playing with but there were an awful lot of them that were very good and very honest and they deserved better to an extent," he said.[LNB]"I would have liked to have been fit to see if I could have helped them because I became friends with an awful lot of them.[LNB]"I would genuinely say they are probably one of the nicest bunch of team-mates I've ever had and I wish them all the success."
