Henry: Wolves believe in survival
Mick McCarthy's side will enter 2010 lying in 15th spot in the table despite losing both of their festive season games against Liverpool and Manchester City.[LNB]But Henry believes Wolves have gradually improved as the campaign has progressed ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third round clash at Tranmere.[LNB]He said: "I think we're in a good position and we've got the belief that we can stay in this league and we believe we're as good - if not better - than a lot of sides.[LNB]"We've played every team once now, as well as Manchester City twice, and we've got nothing to fear.[LNB]"I think the improvement, and how we've adapted to the Premier League, was shown in the first half performance against City at our place compared to when we played them at their place.[LNB]"It was so much better. We just need to turn some of those draws into wins and some of those defeats into draws."[LNB]Henry is relishing life in the top flight particularly as a locally born player.[LNB]He said: "I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm playing where every kid wants to be. I'm sure there are a few of my old teachers locally who maybe remember me.[LNB]"Being from the area as well is also a big thing for me. My dad is a Wolves fan and I remember him telling me the stories of coming to watch the team.[LNB]"Now he's sitting watching me captaining the side in the Premier League so, for him and my family, it's great."[LNB]Meanwhile, Wolves have allowed Jason Shackell to extend his loan deal at Doncaster until the end of the season.[LNB]However, Wanderers have inserted a clause into the deal allowing them to recall Shackell if another club wants to buy him or he wants to leave.[LNB]Shackell, who has formed a solid partnership with James O'Connor at the heart of the Rovers defence, is available for Saturday's FA Cup clash against Brentford.[LNB][LNB]
