The 37-year-old was included in the squad for the 2006 tournament in Germany, but he was an unused substitute for all three of the USA's games.[LNB]However, the former Reading shot-stopper has been in inspired form this season, as Wolves attempt to maintain their top-flight status under Mick McCarthy.[LNB]And Hahnemann is determined to make the final cut for South Africa.[LNB]"I'm trying to squeeze into the squad for this summer because we've got a lot of good keepers, with Tim Howard and Brad Guzan," said Hahnemann.[LNB]"Brad Friedel has now retired from the national side though, so it would be great to go one more time.[LNB]"I have only been to a World Cup on one occasion, in Germany, and I've always been kept out of the side by top-class keepers.[LNB]"The likes of Friedel and Keller have made the competition for places always intense.[LNB]"I'm hungry to play at that level and I would love to be in South Africa this summer.[LNB]"It could be a great tournament for us, with England in the group stages, and also the possibility of facing Germany in the second round, which would be great for me with my family being German.[LNB]"I just need to focus on helping Wolves stay up this season and hopefully that will impress a few people ahead of this summer's big event."[LNB][LNB] England v U.S.A.
