New £6.5 million striker Steven Fletcher was the stand out playing in the friendly 2-1 win against Athletic Bilbao. The ex Burnley striker scored the first for Wolves with Ebanks Blake getting the winner The glaring ommission from the Wolves team was Kevin Doyle who suffered a calf injury but gaffer mick McCarthy doesn't seem to think that is too serious SEE HERE Kevin Doyle and Stephen Over 17,500 fans turned up this this pre season friendly whcih was a stunning turnout especially considering Sandwell could not ven reach 5,000 fans and Small Heath just over 10,000. That will be a sign of things to come as Wolves will sell out most matches this season whilst our neighbour's fickle fans will only turn up for the big games .   Wolves took the lead on 15 minutes. Great interplay between Jarvis , SEB and Fletcher left Fletcher executing a perfect low shot past the Bilbao keeper. Bilbao then hit the bar before SEB's 35 yarder was just over. Bilbao equalised in the 36th minute when the Wolves defence went to sleep (Foley) and Lopez hit the ball across Hahnemann Wolves won the game on 66 minutes when a Henry cross/shot found Ebanks Blake who slotted home from around the penalty spot. SEB looked like he had injured his foot but played on until he was subbed 10 minutes later SO a good work out a week before we welcome the Clayheads to Molineux. IF Doyle isn't fit the the combination of Fletcher and Ebanks Blake will be more than good enough Photos courtesy of Matt "Tomo" Tomlinson , lifelong Wolves fan
