Elokobi already eyeing return

Wolves defender George Elokobi has vowed to return stronger than ever from his ankle injury, despite being in the early stages of recovery.

Elokobi will miss the rest of the season after fracturing and dislocating his ankle last month on his debut for Bristol City after joining the club on loan from Wolves. The powerful defender has undergone surgery on the injury and he has now set his sights on working his way back to fitness.

"I am a little bit frustrated that my time at Bristol City was cut short by a horrific injury," Elokobi told Sky Sports.

"Everything is under control now, I have undergone my operation and now I am going to crack on with my rehabilitation which is probably going to take five or six month to do that.

"I have been in this position before and now I just need to concentrate on getting myself back again.

"I have got my head around the injury and I am fine.

"Things happen for a reason, I am a strong lad mentally and the rehab is going well at the moment and I pray it will continue."

The 26-year-old admits he enjoyed his short time at Ashton Gate and that he regrets his spell was cut short by injury.

"I had a fantastic time at Bristol City even though I was only there for four days," added Elokobi.

"The club as a whole, the manager, his coaching staff, the players and the fans it's a good club.

"I just wanted to do well for Bristol City, but unfortunately it wasn't to be."
