Doyle desperate to save Wolves

Wolves striker Kevin Doyle has pledged to do everything he can to prevent the club from becoming embroiled in a relegation dogfight. The Republic of Ireland striker scored his first league goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Blackpool - a result that underlined Wanderers' struggling start to the season. They are in trouble despite some impressive performances, but Doyle is hopeful they will not be sweating come the end of the season. He told his club's official website: "We know we can get out of the bottom three because we've been playing well. But playing well and winning games is a different thing. "There are only so many times we can come in afterwards and say we've played well and come away with nothing. "Now we know we're down there and what the situation is - we are in a relegation battle and have to fight tooth and nail to get out of it."
