Wolves fitness and conditioning coach Tony Daley says the players are in "tip-top" shape ahead of their Premier League opener against Stoke.[LNB] Wolves are preparing for their second consecutive campaign in the top-flight after finishing 15th on their return to the top flight last season.[LNB]Mick McCarthy's men will be looking to improve on that this time around and Daley feels the squad could not be better prepared going into Saturday's first game at Molineux.[LNB]Speaking exclusively to TEAMtalk, the former Wanderers winger said: "The players were given a programme to stick to over the summer and the testing we did in pre-season showed they came back at the required levels of fitness.[LNB]"They were at really high levels to be honest so we're really pleased with them and they've come through pre-season training easily because of that.[LNB]"There have been some early starts and some late finishes but whatever we've put in front of the players they've done and I think they're in tip-top shape."[LNB]McCarthy recently joked you "ran until you were sick or knackered" in pre-season during his days as a player but Daley insists that is a thing of the past.[LNB]"Long gone are the days when players were asked to run 10 or 12 miles at a time, they runs are interval based and a lot shorter these days," he said.[LNB]"We also work at the players on an individual basis based on their heart rate as players running at the back of the pack could sometimes be working harder than those at the front.[LNB]"You have to monitor heart rates and be careful you're preventing them from getting fatigued which later leads to them getting injuries. So things have moved on a bit since the old days."[LNB]Wolves have bought in Jelle Van Damme, Steven Fletcher, Stephen Hunt and Steven Mouyokolo ahead of the new season but, although Daley is impressed with the new additions, he is predicting another tough season.[LNB]He added: "The new signings have fitted in extremely well. They're fit boys, very healthy and we're really pleased with them.[LNB]"We've improved our squad but the rest of the Premier League have improved theirs as well so it's going to be as tough if not tougher than last season."[LNB]Tony Daley uses products from leading European sports nutrition company Multipower.
