Blackburn v Wolves reaction
Wolves manager Stale Solbakken was proud of his team after they defeated Blackburn 1-0 despite missing a number of important players.
With injuries already weakening Solbakken's hand for the match, his options were further reduced when Dave Edwards and Dorus De Vries both missed the game because their wives were giving birth.
Bakary Sako's third goal of the season, a drilled effort from the edge of the area, helped Wolves bounce back from defeat in their previous game and took their recent run to five wins in the last six games.
Solbakken praised his depleted team for their performance in trying circumstances.
"I think we were rock solid today taking into consideration how this week has been for us,
taking into account injuries for Slawomir Peszko, Razak Boukari, and Kevin Doyle - who was injured in training on Friday.
"Bjorn Sigurdarson was sick and today I woke up with a message that Edwards had gone to hospital with his wife this morning.
"He just managed to get into the door and his wife gave birth to his daughter four minutes later so he couldn't play. And then De Vries was also in hospital with his wife, so we had some absentees not planned for and I've never been in that position. I always timed it better than that."
The Norwegian was also pleased with the players who had to play out of position because of the missing men.
He said: "I think what I'm proud of is the players who played not in the most familiar roles played very well. I think the confidence in the team in the first half was very good. Some of the youngsters also got game time today."
Blackburn have now gone four games without a win and only picked up two points in that time.
Caretaker manager Eric Black felt his side should have had a penalty in the first half when Jordan Rhodes was fouled.
He said: "That's two weeks in a row. I'm not saying we'd have gone on to win the game but they're crucial decisions and they're so blatant. That's two ridiculous claims we have had. How they can decide Jordan has fallen by his own means is beyond me. Their boy falls over as well so contact must have been made."
Black did not feel his side deserved to lose the match.
"I'm not deluding myself; I don't think we did enough to win the game but we certainly did enough not to lose it," he said.
