Ballack doubtful for Wolves battle

The 33-year-old has had an emotional week following the suicide of international team-mate Robert Enke and will miss the match on Wednesday with an infected knee.[LNB]Chelsea can go eight points ahead of their title rivals on Saturday with Manchester United not playing until the early evening when they host Everton and Arsenal facing a tricky test at Sunderland.[LNB]However the absence of Ballack, coupled with the injury to team-mate Frank Lampard, leaves the Blues short in the midfield department.[LNB]"We can definitely say that Michael Ballack will not play on Wednesday," Germany coach Joachim Low said.[LNB]"He has an infection in the back of the knee and there has been a reaction. After consultation with the doctors - I also spoke to Michael Ballack this morning - I have decided that he will not play. [LNB]"He needs two or three days of rest. It makes no sense to take risks, also in terms of Chelsea as they have quite a few games leading up to Christmas and afterwards."[LNB][LNB] Chelsea v Wolves Correct Score: Chelsea 4-0 7/1
