Wolves to stand by Veh

Wolfsburg chairman Garcia Sanz has dismissed speculation suggesting that coach Armin Veh could be replaced during the Bundesliga's winter break.

The reigning champions are 11 points off the title pace at the midway point of the season, but Sanz says that stability will bring rewards for his club.

He told the club's official website: "Of course we had all imagined a different first half to the season, but we are not totally dissatisfied.

"The team has shown what it is capable of. Of course it is always important to win and get points, but it was also important for me to see how the team performs.

"Armin Veh is not to be deposed. There is no discussion at all about the coach.

"We want to go into the second half of the season with him and we are sticking tightly with him.

"Of course we will also use the short winter break to analyse the situation together and to talk about the future of Wolfsburg."
