Wolfsburg have signed PSV Eindhoven centre-back Jeffrey Bruma on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old former Chelsea defender joined PSV in 2013 and went on to make 113 appearances in all competitions for the Dutch club.

During his time in Eindhoven, Bruma won two Eredivisie titles, including the season just gone when Ajax were pipped to top spot.

The Holland international spent two years on loan with Hamburg while on the books of Chelsea and admits he was keen to experience the Bundesliga once more.

He told Wolfsburg's official website: "Since my time at Hamburger SV it was clear to me that I wanted to play in the Bundesliga again, because it is one of Europe's top leagues.

"I am pleased that in Wolfsburg I get the opportunity to do so in the future. In the three years at PSV, I have gained a lot of experience and I continued to perform well."
